YIM COLLECTION:
I make a steady living with these type of tables. They are "Farm" or "Country" styles made with solid wood tops and solid wood legs. Legs are usually 2 1/2 inches square tapered down (all 4 sides) to 1 3/4 inches, which makes for a very soothing transition. My trademarks are the "dutchmans" or "inlays". Historically, dutchmans were used to beautify wood, ie. remove knots, mineral stains or any other imperfections and replaced with clear wood inlays. I use them for both decorative and functional purposes. Below is a solid Cherry table, you will see the "bow tie" inlays which function to strengthen the joined wood and adds a rather unique look to the table top. You will also see smaller "round" inlays which replaced unwanted knots. Table is approximately 3 foot x 5 foot, finished with a clear shellac and 4 coats of amber wax. Your questions and comments welcome, Rick Santiago
